East Winds is the perfect small, intimate resort in the most beautiful setting with an amazing beach and a team who cannot do enough for their guests. While there may... read more only be one restaurant the menu changes daily and the quality of the food and drink exceeded our expectations and we never saw the same dish twice. Excellent value and service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at East Winds.

The rooms and resort were gorgeous, the food amazingly delicious, and the staff are the friendliest, most helpful and attentive we've experienced.
This was the first time on the island for 80% of our guests and the staff at East Winds honestly couldn't have made the experience any better!
We are so excited to go back for another stay!

The food was just OK, I was disappointed with the breakfast, you'll be fine if you like a cooked breakfast, but we never saw any of the home made breads that are listed on the breakfast menu. For lunch and dinner If you like meat and BBQs you'll be OK, if you are a vegetarian the menu is rather limited. All the staff are lovely, its a shame we couldn't see their smiling faces, too many to single out. The grounds are lovely, and you must do the garden tour with Sylvanas, it was so interesting and he has a great passion for his garden.
As I said we enjoyed our stay and East Winds must be dong something right because of the amount of return guests, but sad to say we won't be one of them. More

Ideally located a few yards from the beach and bars. Breakfasts - couldn't be better. Lunches - varied, some bbq's, buffet type service, our favourite meals of the day. Dinners - 4 courses, proper silver service but very relaxed. Brilliant wines, different each night. Water sports - 3 hobie cats available, kayaks, paddle boards and pedlos. Also decent snorkelling. Good tuition available if required, at no extra cost. Excursions - we did the sunset cruise and the day trip on a yacht to the pitons, sulphur springs and waterfall. Both were great, but the day trip was really special. Staff - Eastwinds strongest card. All are very good, some exceptional. It almost seems unfair to mention some and not others but here goes; Joe - at the watersports, Taught me to sail the hobie cat and was just great throughout the 2 weeks. Miriam and Kerwin the two sommeliers/waiters, great fun and very knowledgeable about the wines. Curlin, Septima, Robert, Kirby, Windel, Selma and Sylvie all brilliant bartenders/waiters..... Natasha/Charms - two of the "bosses" very nice and courteous. Jayah and... Just back from beautiful Eastwinds.

Jayah and Mikel - brilliant beach/pool bartenders, great banter.
There are lots of others, as I say all are very good.
Music - some form of live music is usually played most lunchtimes and evenings, the pianists are outstanding.
Improvements - so many guests return year after year, Eastwinds aren't doing much wrong! We would;
Offer a Caribbean food option with the dinner choices in the evening, local dishes are perhaps not Eastwinds strong point.
Provide a bit more "vibe" early evening and after dinner with some background music in the sunset bar, likewise in the pool bar between say 3 - 5pm.
Covid protocols - all staff are still wearing masks. personally we would be very happy if they were not and we could see their smiling faces. All bars/restaurants are essentially outside. Likewise remove the perspex screen, between the kitchen staff and guests at breakfast/lunch (the setting is outdoors and we are all vaccinated) it actually makes it difficult to understand the chefs/servers on occasions, given the masks and screen.
Likewise remove the (in our opinion) ridiculous rule that guests should wear a mask when entering or moving about what is an outside bar/restaurant, and when approaching the bar/serving counter. Just not necessary. If anyone was that worried about covid, they would not be travelling on a busy flight through busy airports on holiday.
We are looking forward to returning perhaps when the jazz festival is on (think it is May time), our taxi driver really sold that to us and it sounds like the whole island is buzzing.......could be ideal for a week in Rodney Bay and a relaxing week in Eastwinds to follow......sounds like the perfect holiday!! Every night there’ll be entertainment during dinner, either a pianist, singer or band.
What really makes Eastwinds the most pleasurable experience is the staff. There is a lot of staff considering the size of the resort, and this ensures you receive a first class service. The staff pretty much all know you by first name. If ordering a drink round the pool or on the beach they will not let you move an inch or lift a finger but will insist on delivering it to you. In the restaurant every waiter remembers what wine you are drinking and ensures you are constantly topped up. There is a “good vibes” hut where you can speak to the wonderful social co-ordinator Simeon who will advise you on the various excursions/trips and tours that the resort offer, but you will never feel pressurised to participate in any if you don’t wish to. There is also a water sports area by the beach, where the wonderful Damien and Joe will take you out for a lesson if you are feeling daring enough to try something more adventurous. We didn’t, we just took out a kayak 😉
The lovely reception management will also do their best to ensure that if you have an evening departure flight, you are given a room after the 1230 check out time should yours be taken, and have all your luggage transferred over for you, as they did with us.
There are simply too many staff to name and say thank you to individually but special thanks must go to the amazing Sylvanus and Glenda. We got married on our 5th day, and they were instrumental in making our day so special. Sylvanus is the Gardener and is so passionate and knowledgeable about what he does, and made everything look just wonderful. Glenda is the reservations manager who arranged everything for the wedding, and without her personal touch it wouldn’t have been so special. Special shout-out must also go to Jay and Mikel for making every day on the pool/beach so much fun, and Selma for her little outbursts of signing and dancing during dinner service, which always brought a smile to our faces 🙂
The only minor of most minor suggestions would be that at around 22:00 when the dinner entertainment finishes, a lot of guests treacle into the adjacent bar area, which is open until around midnight, and it could do with a little bit of background music. We aren’t talking Ibiza rave, but just some casual music would be nice to make it a tad more atmospheric.
We Can’t recommend Eastwinds enough, thank you again for the most wonderful time.

21 May, 2022This was our first visit to the Caribbean and we were totally blown away by East Winds. It's a beautiful, peaceful resort set next to a gorgeous beach. ... read more The service is outstanding as is the food. We were visiting to celebrate our 30th anniversary and were lucky enough to stay in an ocean view room. We could hardly believe the view was real when we looked out from the veranda onto the palm fringed beach. Total relaxation and luxury.
This is one of the most friendly resorts we've ever stayed at. The staff greet you by name and the other guests are keen to chat and share a drink. We were in a minority being first time visitors and it's easy to see why people return year after year - we hop to do so ourselves. More
15 May, 2022East Winds is as near to perfection as I could ever hope to visit. Its discretely situated in a beautiful quiet bay, with the rooms set back from the beach... read more in a gorgeous tropical botanic garden. But what makes a stay at East Winds so special is the people who work there, it's no coincidence that a lot of them have worked here for many years, they obviously love this place almost as much as the visitors, many of whom return, sometimes several times a year. The service is friendly and relaxed, yet very efficient and prompt. The room's are comfy, the food fantastic and the drinks are there when you want them. If paradise is lying on a sandy, palm fringed beach looking out at a blue sea while a friendly waiter ambles past every now and again to bring you a glass of whatever you fancy, then this is paradise. We had a fantastic stay here and can't wait to return.
