Good to be back - We had a really lovely 11 night stay at East Winds in June.
It was a joy to step back on to the property for the first time in... read more 2 years and the first time since all the COVID restrictions had been lifted.
The welcome we received from so many old friends we have come to know over a number of visits was as delightful as ever and they all continued to look after us so well throughout our stay.
The gardens leading down towards the beach from reception looked as neat and tidy as I can remember. Our wonderfully located room in the oceanfront building was beautifully presented on arrival and along with the adjacent lounge, provided a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable home for our holiday.
The service in the restaurant and bars and out to our cabana at lunchtime was excellent throughout our stay. The staff, many of whom we have known for years looked after us fantastically well as ever.
For an all-inclusive the food is very good. We had many lovely meals. Unfortunately we also had a few disappointing ones. I feel that East Winds were genuinely sad that we had been disappointed and they then went to great lengths to display their culinary worth and served us a wonderful meal, personally cooked and presented by Ivana. We really appreciated the gesture and the trouble she went to. We had a lovely evening. Their determination to ensure our pleasure is one of the reasons we love East Winds so much!
However, there is so much more to East Winds than just the food. The setting, the staff, the ambience, the other guests all contribute to creating a wonderful place to escape the real world and to have a holiday that ticks for us, (on this occasion nearly) all the boxes.
We will be back next year!

Beautiful, charming, authentic hotel with superb service. - This was our fourth visit to St Lucia and our first to East Winds it will not be our last as we hope to join the many repeat guests which... read more speaks volumes about the quality of this wonderful hotel.
We stayed in a semi detached standard room with many luxury features. The resort is small so we were close to all facilities. Room was very large and attractive with plenty of storage space, very comfortable bed, Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom and a separate utility area with 2 sinks, tea and coffee making equipment and minibar containing white wine, beer, water and cans of soft drink, snacks and chocolate. Rooms are are arranged back to back and each has its own very private terrace with thatched parasol and seating also with a hummingbird feeder. Room was kept to a very high standard by the excellent housekeeping team.
Grounds are beautiful, mature, tropical and very well kept. The entire resort has a feeling of peace and beauty especially early in the morning when the birdsong is incredible. There are 2 areas of beach both with well spaced comfortable sunbeds and plenty of beach towels. Paddle boards, kayaks and hobie cats are available and the watersports team were really friendly and helpful.
The pool is lovely with more very comfortable sunbeds and a help yourself bar complete with everything to make your own cocktails and a fridge full of soft drinks, beer and water.
Food is excellent at all meals - buffet breakfasts and lunches with twice weekly BBQ lunch, the shrimp were amazing! Dinner was a la carte starting with an amuse bouche followed by 4 courses and a different menu each night, we enjoyed every meal and service was excellent. We also liked having a choice of specially chosen wines to complement the menu, The home made ice creams were a highlight - cashew nut and rosemary, avocado and lime, nutmeg and ginger! Our thanks to all the chefs and behind the scenes kitchen staff.
The inclusion of French champagne as part of the all inclusive really made my holiday as I am not a big cocktail drinker although those I tried were excellent especially whilst watching the spectacular sunsets.
Because the hotel only has 30 rooms the service felt very personal and was certainly the best we have ever experienced in the Caribbean. Special thanks to Wendell and Robert in the bar and the lovely waitress Jesse who always found time to chat and make sure we had everything we needed whilst always keeping on top of her workload. She is a credit to the hotel. Thanks also to Joe who was so kind and helpful when he took us out on a hobie cat which I thoroughly recommend. We were sad to leave and would like to thank every member of staff for their exceptional service we will return without doubt!

Amazing East winds! - Well what can I say! This resort lived up to its excellent reputation and trip advisor ratings! From start to extended finish, the attention to detail and exceptional service, from... read more all the staff, we had to stay an extra 2nights due to flight cancellation, which reception dealt with promptly, allowing us to stay in our room, juggling other guests! For which we were very grateful, the room was excellent, superior garden cottage, must say it was great location for all the areas we used, very well tended to by our room service lady, the restaurant, was just excellent, food was of very high standard both in quality and flavour, and nothing was too much trouble if you had a particular issue with a dish! The servers, waitresses and waiters and bar staff were so cheerful, helpful and courteous, and fun! It was an amazing holiday, one which we will never forget and hope to, like so many of their guests, come back to in the future! Thank you to all of the staff I won’t name as I’d be scared of missing anyone out as they all are truly a credit to the hotel!!!

A wonderful hotel with the friendliest staff we've ever encountered! - Our first trip to East Winds and it lived up to all our expectations, having been recommended to stay by our friends who joined us on the holiday.
Let's... read more start with the staff at the hotel - quite simply the friendliest and best staff we have ever come across anywhere in the world - NOTHING is too much trouble! The restaurant in particular is fabulous - open air and beautiful views across the beach and most lunchtimes and evenings have some entertainment (the steel drums are brilliant) The food is simply fantastic.
We booked a Deluxe cottage, which was worth the extra cost, as they are beautiful.
Couple of things to note (but please don't let them put you off!) but there are lots of Mozzies so make sure you are well protected at ALL times - the hotel provides all sorts of sprays but make sure you use them. The other thing to be aware of is the 1 hr and 20 min transfer, which is a struggle for those who suffer travel sickness as it's very winding roads but is also a good opportunity to see the Island and both our drivers were very friendly and informative.
All in all - we would MASSIVELY recommend as a fabulous place to holiday in paradise - thank you to all the wonderful staff for making it such a special place!
