The hotel is full of charm in every way possible and for us it was the ideal place that fulfilled our holiday requirements.
Perhaps the most endearing feature of East Winds, is the staff, they go above and beyond to ensure all the guests are well looked after and that was certainly the service that was bestowed upon us! No matter what the staff did, from gardener, cleaner, watersports, chef, waiter/waitress, reception, guest services, bar service, spa, they all treated guests with kindness, care and big happy smiles!! Nothing was too much trouble if a guest requested it! The management should be extremely proud of all of them.
We stayed in a Deluxe cottage, which was gorgeous, we especially liked the sunken shower and beautiful his & hers washbasins, even the sudden bang on the roof in the middle of the night from a falling mango just enhanced its character!
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool and beach, no need to get up early to reserve one!
All the meals were wonderful, we were truly well fed, with lots of different delights, just felt very guilty not finishing the plate because we were very full!!
We feel the hotel catered superbly for our needs and perhaps is more suitable for adults rather than children, but then there were no children present so that's just our opinion.
Thank you so much East Winds for making our holiday so memorable, making lots of new friends during our stay, we will see you again next year!

We loved the beach and just spending the days there.... read more Would recommend doing the garden tours. It's honestly amazing how much Sylvanus knows. Only complaint-food was tough for me at times. It doesn't help that I am very picky. I talked to the chef on two separate dinners and the first one she made was amazing. The 2nd time they just did a pan seared chicken which was very bland. But they were willing to work with me. It was very easy to tell that the resort is catered more for British than American.

And we thought how much we'd like to share the experience with our (adult) children. So fast forward a year and we brought them, and their partners, to see for themselves.
Their verdict?
The best family holiday ever.
They loved it.
The food, the drink, the beautiful gardens full of colourful flowers and birds, the golden beach, the watersports, and the icing on the cake is the genuinely warm welcome from all of the staff.
We're already wondering when we can go again.

The beach is beautiful, with seperate spaces for everyone plus the pool and the gardens are delightful with tons of birds everywhere including lots of hummingbirds.

The all inclusive food is great and the drinks selection is top notch and the cocktails are great too.

When we first visited, we were a bit nervous about all inclusive but East Winds does it so well and this combined with the amazing staff adds up to a really relaxed place where everyone is having a great time. THere are a few new staff since ou last visit and again the management need to be patted on the back for finding some more people who fit right in!!!!

The staff were exemplary catering... read more for our every need above and beyond even providing a hummimg bird feeder on our terrace when we expressed interest. Our room was charming and very private. Food was excellent with a good variety of fish, salads and international cheese and wines. The BBQ steak was however a little tough on a couple of occasions. Watersports team (Davon and Damien) were amazing giving excellent sailing and padleboard instruction in a knowable and reassuring manner. They were helpful and nothing was every too much trouble for them, making our holiday really special. I don't really think this is a resort for children as those we saw there looked bored. Over the Easter weekend there were a large number of people on the beach which is quite small and we found this rather confusing as the literature on East Winds boasts a private beach which this clearly wasn't. We both thoroughly enjoyed our massages but would recommend booking early to avoid disappointment as slots get snapped up. Thoroughly recommend Sylvanus' tour of the gardens. Incredibly interesting and informative.
We are definitely planning to return and a very sincere thanks to all the staff who made our stay quite memorable and idyllic.

We were celebrating a birthday and our personal dinner in a beachfront gazebo on our last night was perfection. All the staff enhanced the holiday experience but we were blown away by Theresa in the Spa who is very skilled and has a beautiful soul and also Davon on the water sports team who took us out on our Hobie adventures with his sailing skills and infectious personality. What can I say that describes something... read more different from all the other reviews? Probably nothing at all. Flawless service from everyone, regardless of role, friendliest staff, gorgeous humming birds, comfortable rooms, truly home from home. Incremental improvements each year when you hadn’t realised improvements were needed. Meeting old friends and making new ones, this is a place you could come to on your own or with friends or partners. The grounds themselves are worth a visit and the garden tour with Sylvanus is a must. His knowledge of plants and their medicinal uses is amazing. Beach service, pool service, bar service, restaurant service, housekeeping, all just amazing! Great selection of wines paired with a new look, exciting menu just heavenly. For those with water sports on their mind, the team there are also fabulous. Would we go back again? Don't be silly - already booked!

We spent our first 2 days at the Ladera Resort at the West of the island, and checked out early as we were really unhappy - we had arrived to a hen party disco and the whirring pool pump in our room kept us awake. East Winds were able to fit us in at the last minute and turned a disastrous holiday into the holiday of a lifetime. East Winds by comparison is everything we were looking for. Tranquil, peaceful and totally relaxing. The gardens are beautiful, the food is incredible and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The beach is lovely, sunsets incredible, sunloungers the most comfortable in the world. The evening meal vibe is wonderful and listening to the pianist (Dien Thomas) was one of the highlights. The clientele (in February) is slightly older and mostly retired, but that suits us perfectly as it's so calm and quiet. Most people are British and they know their market - serving tea in teapots and even an option of roast beef on the Sunday (sounds tacky but it really isn't!). The yoga pavilion is one of the most idyllic places I've ever been.. it's undercover, mahogany floor and surrounded by... We normally have a rule that we won't return to a place as there's so much else to do, see and travel in the world.. but we will be returning here. The only negative is the gym which needs updating, but it's in the plans for the hotel and we really look forward to coming back and testing it out. We were worried about other reviewers talking about barking dogs, but honestly you don't really hear them and you get used to them pretty quickly. They didn't bother us at all.. and I have ears like a bat. We've been to other resorts in St Lucia and holidayed in the Maldives, and East Winds trumps them all. In 26 years of marriage I'd say this is our best holiday ever. More
