FAMILY FOUNDATION
FAMILY FOUNDATION
In 2017 East Winds embarked on a project to support the children of staff members in receiving proper education by remaining in school. We realized that the average cost of books is EC1,000.00 or USD370.00 per year and for low income families that would mean having to borrow the money to purchase books with high interest rates.
In order to achieve this goal, we asked our guests to donate 1 USD per room for each night spent at the resort towards what we call our
East Winds Family Foundation
Since the commencement of the Foundation in 2017 we have been able to provide all required school books to 44 children ranging from ages 6-17 years old. In 2018 in addition to school books, we were able to provide school bags and stationery to 46 children through the support of our guests.
We are thankful to our guests who have supported the foundation thus far and we look forward to a successful 2019 and the continued support of our loyal guests.

Whatever you’re looking to do during your Saint Lucia vacation, you’re bound to find it at East Winds. From yoga to kayaking, birdwatching to rum tasting, snorkeling to cooking classes, we have something for everyone
A wonderful hotel with the friendliest staff we've ever encountered! - Our first trip to East Winds and it lived up to all our expectations, having been recommended to stay by our friends who joined us on the holiday.
Let's... read more start with the staff at the hotel - quite simply the friendliest and best staff we have ever come across anywhere in the world - NOTHING is too much trouble! The restaurant in particular is fabulous - open air and beautiful views across the beach and most lunchtimes and evenings have some entertainment (the steel drums are brilliant) The food is simply fantastic.
We booked a Deluxe cottage, which was worth the extra cost, as they are beautiful.
Couple of things to note (but please don't let them put you off!) but there are lots of Mozzies so make sure you are well protected at ALL times - the hotel provides all sorts of sprays but make sure you use them. The other thing to be aware of is the 1 hr and 20 min transfer, which is a struggle for those who suffer travel sickness as it's very winding roads but is also a good opportunity to see the Island and both our drivers were very friendly and informative.
All in all - we would MASSIVELY recommend as a fabulous place to holiday in paradise - thank you to all the wonderful staff for making it such a special place!

Good to be back - We had a really lovely 11 night stay at East Winds in June.
It was a joy to step back on to the property for the first time in... read more 2 years and the first time since all the COVID restrictions had been lifted.
The welcome we received from so many old friends we have come to know over a number of visits was as delightful as ever and they all continued to look after us so well throughout our stay.
The gardens leading down towards the beach from reception looked as neat and tidy as I can remember. Our wonderfully located room in the oceanfront building was beautifully presented on arrival and along with the adjacent lounge, provided a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable home for our holiday.
The service in the restaurant and bars and out to our cabana at lunchtime was excellent throughout our stay. The staff, many of whom we have known for years looked after us fantastically well as ever.
For an all-inclusive the food is very good. We had many lovely meals. Unfortunately we also had a few disappointing ones. I feel that East Winds were genuinely sad that we had been disappointed and they then went to great lengths to display their culinary worth and served us a wonderful meal, personally cooked and presented by Ivana. We really appreciated the gesture and the trouble she went to. We had a lovely evening. Their determination to ensure our pleasure is one of the reasons we love East Winds so much!
However, there is so much more to East Winds than just the food. The setting, the staff, the ambience, the other guests all contribute to creating a wonderful place to escape the real world and to have a holiday that ticks for us, (on this occasion nearly) all the boxes.
We will be back next year!

A beautiful and picturesque resort - I came to St Lucia with some friends who were getting married at the hotel and it was a beautiful week. The grounds are stunning and the accommodation is very... read more traditional. Every single member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The wedding was absolutely stunning and executed exceptionally from the team.
The rooms have bug spray and insect repellent which was a lovely touch!
I had a massage and the open air experience whilst hearing all the calmness from the gardens was amazing.
We were unfortunate to be here for hurricane beryl but it was handled so professionally and the team ensured we’d have anything we needed and we still had hot meals delivered during this time. They had also arranged for us to have breakfast / lunch / day access at a nearby hotel whilst they cleaned up the grounds following the hurricane.
It’s a very traditional experience at east winds and one I would recommend for authenticity and charm. An excellent team which truly make it too!
